Spergularia rupicola grows on rocky coasts in Ireland and in western Great Britain, from Portsmouth (VC11: South Hampshire) to Islay and Colonsay (VC102: South Ebudes).

Spergularia rupicola has large flowers, more than 8 mm across, and its stems are glandular-hairy, even below the inflorescence.
