Sparaxis grandiflora is a species native to the Cape Province of South Africa, but naturalised in the Isles of Scilly (VC1: West Cornwall & Scillies) and on Sark (VC113).

The colours may vary, but the flowers of Sparaxis grandiflora are actinomorphic, with the tepals united into a short tube; the bracts are brown and papery.
