Synonym | × Cuprocyparis leylandii (A. B. Jacks. & Dallim.) Farjon

Although it originated in Britain, × Cuprocyparis leylandii is a hybrid between Xanthocyparis nootkatensis and Cupressus macrocarpa, two species from western North America.

The cones of Cupressus × leylandii are smaller than those of Cupressus macrocarpa; it produces seeds, but they rarely germinate.
